Black and white striped king snake in Canandaigua, New York

I have a young black and white striped king snake that i got at Petsmart in October 2013. I had always wanted a king snake so i go it, i didn't realized he wasn't that socialized. (i guess i should have expected it coming from a pet store). I am not very experienced with snakes so i don't feel very comfortable handling him. I have never been bit but he is obviously frightened when i go near him (shaking his tail, and pulling his head back like the striking position.) I would like to find a home for him with someone that has more experience and is more comfortable. Asking $40.00 does not include tank.
